Engineers at Meta are extremely motivated. There is definitely a culture that promotes moving fast and making mistakes, and you could learn so much from just reading documentation. The free food and office snacks every day were also great to help keep you motivated.
Meta’s new direction with AR/VR always seemed hopeless to me. It seemed like they tried to brainwash us during onboarding into believing in it, but every attempt felt pathetic and was hardly convincing.
Also, there is definitely some toxic management at the company that promotes competition rather than collaboration.
