Extremely toxic work culture, where teammates throwing each other under the bus and stealing each other's scope is not uncommon.

They increased the BE distribution to 15% - 20% recently, so just more people they can lay off. At the end of every half, it's like the Hunger Games, with everyone trying to survive to the next half.
Not like they would listen anyways.
