I joined Meta from Google, and in a lot of ways they are similar.
Both companies are very engineering-centric.
What I like about Meta is that it is more dynamic, and things get done faster. It is still a good idea to have a design document, but only to achieve alignment with your peers faster and unblock you. If there is no controversy about your idea, you can just go ahead and code it.
This environment of "move fast" creates a lot of pressure due to high expectations.
Lack of boundaries between teams creates a very competitive environment. If you don't work on an opportunity within your area of responsibility, someone else will, and soon.
