EM is hired as a technical role, but on the ground, it's only people management.
There are clear expectations. If you don't fit that checklist, you will not succeed.
In London, compensation is average. The work-life balance is bad; compensation is average. Other companies have amazing work-life balance but a little less compensation. Just comparing compensation without overall stress and effort is not fair, and Meta is doing that.
They say that the company enables strengths, but that's not true for managers. EMs are a third-class citizen in the company.
Fix your interview process for managers. Everyone shares that it's a technical and leadership role.
