Process

Apply at my college career fair. Micron conducted mass interviews. It lasted for a whole day.

They provided breakfast and lunch. There are 3 rounds in total:

  • Interview with an engineer
  • Interview with a manager
  • Interview with the director (FAB10)

No technical questions. A simple logical test was required.

Firstly, the interview with the engineer was very casual. It was more of a "get to know session." He asked questions based on what I wrote in my resume. We talked about my interests, my CCA involvement, and past job experiences.

Secondly, things started to get more serious. The manager was kind enough to wait for me to finish my lunch when it was my turn to be interviewed. He explained in detail the job prospects, working hours, and career advancement opportunities, and was very concerned about my interests. He asked about my FYP from both poly and uni in detail. Managerial questions were also asked.

Lastly, with the FAB10 director. He was an extremely friendly guy who never failed to smile. He was more interested in my personality values than my technical capabilities. He asked very basic interview questions, which I had expected to be asked during the 1st round. He listened to me and maintained eye contact, which was very comforting. Personally, I think he was more concerned with promoting a positive working environment. It lasted about 25 minutes.

I was offered a position on the same day. The HR department was very kind. Overall, a positive experience.

Pay and allowances were comparable to other companies. The only downside is shift work.
