Data Solutions Architect Interview Experience - Dallas, Texas

Process

TLDR: Microsoft flew me in and paid for my hotel. I received positive feedback in person, but then heard nothing for over five weeks. Attempts to contact the recruiters have resulted in nothing. I received no rejection email or phone call, nor any other communication.

I was contacted by a recruiter and, after two phone interviews, was flown to Dallas for an in-person interview. The person I was scheduled to meet didn't attend due to heavy rain, so I ended up being interviewed by three different people (one of whom had previously interviewed me over the phone).

I received positive feedback from all three interviewers and was told I could expect to hear back within five to ten business days.

Microsoft paid for my flight and hotel. As of now, five weeks later, I have received zero feedback from anyone at the company. My emails have typically gone unanswered. The original recruiter is no longer with his staffing company, and I was transferred to someone else.

I am furious that I took valuable time away from my family to travel for an in-person interview and was not afforded the courtesy of a single phone call or email from anyone at the company.

I'm pretty sure I would have received an offer if someone at the company hadn't completely messed up. Instead, I've received zero communication.

I am blown away by the lack of professionalism and courtesy from Microsoft for not having the decency to follow up with candidates at all.

My time is my most valuable commodity, and I will never trust Microsoft with it again. I am a cloud technology and data expert, and Microsoft wanted my assistance supporting Azure clients. I was abundantly qualified to do so. If they ever contact me again, I will absolutely not waste my time with them. I am thankful that I received an offer from a competitor, but I regret delaying my acceptance while waiting for Microsoft to contact me.
