The Hyderabad team visited their Gurgaon office for a hiring drive, in which I participated for a BI Data Engineer position.

I underwent four interview rounds:

• Three technical assessments.
• The last round was a behavioral interview with the Director.

After each round, HR asked personally about my expectations and provided updates on the previous and next rounds, which was quite engaging.

First round:

• A few technical questions on data warehousing, SQL queries (simple).

Second round:

• Questions around current projects, architecture, new technologies in the market, how I keep myself updated, and some scenario-based questions on data warehousing/reporting.

Third round:

• All scenario-based questions on SQL, data handling, querying, and reporting.

Fourth round:

The entire hour-long discussion revolved around why Microsoft, how I would transition from my current technologies to new technologies I would have to work on, how I would manage stakeholders, would I be able to program, and how I would be successful at Microsoft. I was asked to prove each of the above.
