Pros: If you are lucky and land up in a good team with a good manager, you can do really well. Lots of learning opportunities are available.
Cons: A lot of politics and no transparency, even from immediate managers. There's no choice in selecting work that you want to do. You can get stuck in a bad team and suffer for a long time. There is more emphasis on task completion than quality. Meeting deadlines is more important, no matter how many regressions you introduce.
