Pros: My second summer practice was at Microsoft Company as a software program developer. The company gave me knowledge about new Microsoft Technologies, such as XNA Game Studio, Windows 8, and Windows Phone 7. I created mobile applications using XNA. Additionally, I developed games for Windows 8 and Windows Phone 7 using XNA and SQL Server Management Studio. Presently, I am selling my applications and games on web stores and gaining money from them. Additionally, I was certified as a Microsoft Student Developer.

Cons: There are not any cons about Microsoft Internship.

Pros: You get to work in the heart of the beast, a Washington legend, with a decent salary.

Cons: You are disposable and will be treated as such. Even though I was the person with the most experience in the technology we were using, my ideas were overshadowed, and larger projects had to be pushed off for deadlines. The turnover was also high, even within my team. We had people rotating in and out, with lots of input from different sources on progress/expectations. This led to something of a jumbled mess when it came to development.

Pros: Reasonable, stable place. Nice benefits. If you don't like the team, or simply got tired of the same old routine/technology/building, it's generally not too hard to find a different one to work for. Free drinks.

Cons: No upside for the stock. Your growth depends on your manager(s) and the team you're on, less on yourself. Unlike some others, no free food. Free sodas (bad for health). Cafe food quality really not that great.
