Pros: Great enterprise culture and nice colleagues. Comfortable working environment and don't have too much stress from work.

Cons: The salaries of Chinese employees working in Beijing are much lower than those of employees working in the US, especially for vendor staff.

Pros: - Very interesting and challenging tasks if you join the right team. - Smart colleagues. - Microsoft cares about its employees (health, dental, 401k, stocks). - Good work/life balance. - Hackathons.

Cons: - No free food! It sucks. - You won't get the latest MacBook Pro and iPhone when you join. - To get promoted, you often should be a friend of your manager. - Comparatively low compensation. - Might get some routine, boring tasks if you are not in the right team, though you can switch them pretty easily.

Pros: - Exposure to state-of-the-art technologies. - Office setup and location is amazing. - Great SCRUM process keeps you always productive.

Cons: Huge discrimination between full-time employees and vendors: * Stock shares and more compensation for FTEs, and more than double the salary of contractors. * Challenging and harder tasks are often assigned to vendors, while FTEs own a single project and attend more meetings than working. * Vendors' health insurance is nothing compared to FTEs'. * Impolite and degrading discussions with vendors, as opposed to respectful ones with FTEs. * Vendors are exploited to work on high-demand tasks for the promise of an FTE conversion. * No fair opportunity for FTE conversion, in the sense that it's not related to performance nor potential. * Professional and technical growth of vendors is non-existent, as opposed to the resources and working hours allowed for FTEs. * FTEs have the opportunity to assign some time to learn and improve, while vendors are required to give more than their 8 working hours for that, while being criticized about it. * No metrics for measuring the performance of vendors, while there is one for FTEs, despite the director saying it's tasks-related. Arrogance and lack of empathy from the management cause the best talent to leave. No work-life balance for people in Cairo, as they constantly use employees to impress higher management. Extra hours and efforts are not rewarded, not even working on public vacations, which they either manipulate or force vendors to do. Immoral managers and terrible business ethics from the management side when it comes to agreements with vendors to commit for a year. High risk of being fired suddenly, which is very probable given the contract of IBS with zero rights for vendors. No employment security for vendors, making them victims of management exploitation. Management will do their best to make sure vendors' lives are miserable if they think they are about to apply to other companies or better positions. Not keen to keep the best performers, and they always say that everyone is replaceable, which kills loyalty and attachment to the place. Frequently high turnover with an average of one leaving every month. Very slow and limited promotions for FTEs after 3 promotions, which means no catching up with peers.
