Process

Four interviews on the same day.

We can write logic in any programming language, but writing on paper or a whiteboard is required (no computer).

There is no single correct answer; what's observed is whether you provide a solution and if you improve it.

1st interview - General programming questions.

  • A single technical interviewer asked about 10-15 questions on OOP concepts, C++, small programming questions, and a question on how to store many data types in one type (in C#, there is a type called object which is the base for all data types/classes).

2nd interview - Senior programmer.

  • The answer was required to be written on the whiteboard. It was very difficult, but the interviewer didn't care about the syntax, only the logic. I gave a solution and improved it. In the end, he asked what I learned from this interview's outcome. I said, 'Maybe I can arrive at the optimal solution directly if I take a little more time.'

3rd interview - Management.

  • A very cool guy. There were only 2-3 very logical questions. The question was: 'Two people are circling a very large circle; when will they meet?' I failed to answer this, but he felt I was okay, which is correct. The problem was I assumed they were both circling at a constant speed, so they wouldn't meet. For example, if they were at different speeds (one faster), they would meet at some point. So, simply, the speed = distance / time formula will tell when they will meet, assuming the circle has some circumference (distance). You will get the time since you can assume different speeds and the same distance for both.

I think that's it. I passed and worked for about 3+ years.
