Pros: Work-life balance is good. The environment is good. There are good freebies, making it a pleasant place to work. Friendly peers and a place to learn if you are enthusiastic.

Cons: Most of the work might not be that interesting in testing. People will be friends in their own groups, and most of them have been here for ages. It takes time to break into them and mingle.

Pros: I was an SDET intern in the Boston office, which is a beautiful building overlooking the Charles. The full-time employees were friendly and helpful, including providing a training "boot camp" week at the beginning of the summer.

Cons: I wasn't thrilled by the content of the work on the sustainable engineering team, though I recognize it's an important part of Microsoft's business.
