I believe I was recommended by a faculty member at my university, so I did not have to go through a phone screen. They flew me out for a standard "university day" event. Myself and about 15 others, interviewing for two different groups, were then shuttled from the hotel to the campus for a day of four one-on-one interviews. By the last interview, you could pretty much tell if you would receive an offer.
