The recruiting personnel were top-notch.
The process of flying out to Redmond was smooth and easy. I was never lost or confused about where to go.
The series of four interviews was challenging and mentally exhausting, but I felt pretty good about it all, even after tripping up a bit on some questions.

Pros: Interning at Microsoft was a fantastic experience. They have enough events to keep you wildly busy, and the Intern Signature Event this year was Daya and the Chainsmokers. Overall, a very wonderful experience full of learning with lots of great peers and coworkers.
Cons: It's not to say that all interns experience this, but my manager was absent a lot, so I had to struggle on my own.

Pros: Competitive compensation. Ease of movement among teams in the company. Management is fairly transparent with regards to feedback. If you seek a structured environment, this is probably a very good place for you.
Cons: Full-time employees seem obsessed with performance reviews. As an intern, I found myself explaining the basics of my project to full-time employees far more than I really should have, perhaps indicating a lack of knowledge and focus on my team. Being a Microsoft employee is all about "drinking the Kool-Aid." That is, seeming dissatisfied with the way a team is operating is almost always met with negativity rather than constructive responses.

Great Pay, Outdated Tools

Pros: Probably the best intern salary compared to Google, Apple, and Amazon, especially given that in Washington prices and taxes are lower. Subsidized housing.
Cons: Tools are definitely not very good, build system, source control, etc., etc., etc. But this is going to get better soon, I think.
