Process

I signed up with a recruiter and then got an interview on campus. The interviewer was very nice, and the process was very easy. The offer was to fly to the USA for the actual internship. The questions were not very difficult, but then again, this was only the first stage of the recruitment.

Comfortable but boring

Software Development Engineer Intern • Former Employee

Redmond, Washington, United States

December 16, 2009

Pros: - Good pay and perks for the area, job stability. - Not as many long nights as at a startup. - The company has a lot of resources.

Cons: - Boring! Other companies in the industry are doing much more interesting things. - It's a huge company; don't expect to feel much camaraderie with coworkers or be kept informed of (the few) interesting things going on in the organization. - Very top-down (compared to startups and other companies in the software industry).

Internship is good

Software Development Engineer Intern • Former Employee

Hyderābād, Telangana, India

Pros: Free lunch for interns. Full two-month stay. Vast campus with various outdoor games.

Cons: Recruits are mostly toppers of the institute. Managers show bias. Managers try to save FTE by giving their work to interns and rate interns however they like. Conversion interviews involve deep dives into concepts like OS and DBMS, and they reject us.
