Software Development Engineer Interview Experience - Redmond, Washington

Process

I applied last October and had an on-campus interview a couple weeks later. They then flew me up to Seattle at the beginning of January.

I was surprised by how long the interview process took. The first interview was short, lasting 30-45 minutes. The final round of interviews took most of the day, with three interviews each lasting maybe an hour, or more. (The number can range from two to five, depending on who scheduled them for you).

They told me the following week that I didn't get the job.

The questions ranged from difficult to easy. It never felt like a grueling test; it felt more like a conversation about algorithms. Unfortunately, on the harder questions, I was the person who didn't know the topic too well.
