I am a final-year university student and I submitted my resume for a Software Engineer I position. I had an on-campus interview in October 2018, followed by an on-site interview in January 2018 in Redmond.
I interviewed with four people for 45 minutes each. The first three interviews included technical and behavioral questions. The last one was an "as necessary" interview where the manager tried to convince me to join Microsoft.
The interview questions were of average difficulty for a fourth-year Computer Science major. However, it is important to think through them and ask questions before writing the code. Behavioral questions were standard, such as describing strengths and weaknesses, and conflicts with colleagues.
They provided me with a nice hotel and a good rental car. Flights, meals, and parking were all paid for or reimbursed.
