Process

First, you receive an email asking you to solve a Codility test (with three coding questions, LeetCode style) and inviting you to a 30-minute interview in English with a recruiter from abroad.

Second, there were two technical interviews on the same day.

The first was with a helpful and patient interviewer. They asked two LeetCode questions. They want to see how you think; the code didn't need to compile.

The second interview was with the team manager. The questions were different.

They asked about a project you did and how you would change it if X happened.

Then, they explained what the team does and asked you to solve a small problem related to the team.

Two weeks later, they informed you that you were not a good fit for the position.

Questions

30 min interview:

  1. Why Microsoft?
  2. Favorite Microsoft product.
  3. What makes a great programmer?
  4. Explain multithreading for someone not from the domain.
  5. Tell me about a conflict with a partner in any project/work and how did you solve it?
  6. Two programming languages you're good at.

First technical interview:

  1. Implement an iterator for BST.
  2. Reverse words in a string (reverse the word and keep it in the same position).
