A recruiter reached out in February, and we had a good initial discussion.
Two weeks later, I had four back-to-back virtual interviews. The questions were generic coding questions. I was told everything went well.
The recruiter reached out a day later and informed me I had nailed the interview. Then a week went by with no further communication. I followed up, but received no response. Another week passed, and still nothing. I followed up again, with no reply.
After tracking down the recruiter on LinkedIn, I was told that the team I interviewed with had budgeting issues and could no longer hire new people. My recruiter was then looking for a different team for me.
A week later, my recruiter found a new team, and I interviewed with the hiring manager. We had a great conversation, and he stated I was a great fit for the role and I would be hearing from them soon. I followed up with a thank-you email.
A week went by. Nothing. I followed up with my recruiter. Nothing. Two weeks passed. Nothing. I followed up again. Nothing.
Here we are three weeks later. This is the most disappointing and disheartening job search I've ever gone through. What a terrible waste of time. To get someone's hopes raised so high after they have spent four months studying their life away for interviews.
