Microsoft Work Experiences
- 4.0Great Team, Tough CompetitionSoftware Engineer Intern • Current EmployeeMarch 20, 2021Pros: Nice environment, highly competitive team.Cons: Other engineers are too good and make me feel bad :(
- 5.0SWE Intern ExperienceSoftware Engineer Intern • Former EmployeeRedmond, Washington, United StatesOctober 23, 2025Pros: Work-life balance is great, and the pay ($51/hr) was great. There were lots of intern events, free drinks, 40 cafeterias on campus, and many great benefits: $400 for wellness, $10,000 post-tax for housing (or choose corporate housing), and PTO.Cons: New grad pay isn't the highest compared to other big tech companies. Return offers take a long time to come.
- 5.0Best place to work among the big techsSoftware Engineer Intern • Current EmployeeMay 13, 2021Pros: They don't try to keep that "young and hip" appearance like many companies. There are fun activities, but it feels a lot more "mature": you go in, you work, you go home.Cons: It's very big and very easy to get lost in the internal workings if your manager isn't too good.
