For the on-campus hiring process, the selection consisted of an Online Assessment (OA) followed by two technical interview rounds. In both technical rounds, the interviewers focused on core computer science subjects and asked one DSA problem in each round. The DSA questions were similar to medium-to-hard LeetCode problems. The first round included a matrix/grid (2D array) problem, while the second round focused on string manipulation. The interviewers emphasized more than just arriving at the correct solution. They paid close attention to the problem-solving approach, expected candidates to perform a thorough dry run, generate and discuss test cases (including edge cases), and clearly explain their thought process throughout the solution.

The interview began with a discussion on core computer science subjects, including questions on DBMS, Operating Systems, and the four pillars of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP). The interviewer also spent a few minutes discussing my projects, asking about my implementation choices and the technologies I had used. The DSA question was based on string manipulation, similar to the String to Integer (atoi) problem on LeetCode. The focus was not just on writing the solution but also on identifying edge cases, generating comprehensive test cases, and explaining the reasoning behind each scenario. The interviewer evaluated the overall problem-solving approach, attention to corner cases, and the ability to validate the solution through dry runs.
