Process

I passed the phone interview and went to Seattle for the on-site. The algorithm questions were not hard and could all be found in the posts of other Glassdoor users who had interviewed with Microsoft. They also asked me detailed questions, such as:

  • What STL version am I using for C++ and its details?
  • What are my experiences with STL and Boost?
  • When using a receiving buffer of size 500 bytes to get data from a socket, what would happen if all the data sent each time is 1000 bytes, 500 bytes, and 300 bytes?

I did not give good answers to these questions because I had not done development coding for a while during my graduate study, and hence I was rejected.
