Round 2: Pen Paper Coding Round
Microsoft conducted its interview process at around 8 centers across the country. I was called to Bhubaneshwar (ITER College). Around 50 candidates from the nearby region appeared for the process. We were given one question (Removing duplicates from a singly linked list) and 30 minutes to solve it. We were supposed to write the code in any language. The judging criteria were code cleanliness, commenting, and test cases.
Twenty students were shortlisted for the interview round, including me.
Round 3: Personal Interview
The interview started with some questions from my resume, about my projects, and some real-life applications of ML algorithms I have used. Then, I was asked a simple question related to arrays (which I don't remember). After that, I was asked basic OOPS-related questions. Then, I was asked to design Microsoft's search engine, Bing. I was supposed to provide the appropriate classes and functions required to implement a search engine, followed by some test cases. At last, I was given a situation: If I were given some work that I was unable to complete and the deadline was approaching, what would I do? Also, the only person who could help me was out of reach.
I was eliminated after this round.
