Work-life balance is non-existent. Time off can be good, as mentioned by others in the company, but if your manager doesn't approve the 100% discretionary time off, you can go the entire year without a vacation with no options.
Check how often managers approve time off. Don't just leave it to them to be local overlords without supervision themselves.
