Technology Leader, Strong Processes, High Learning Opportunities
Overly hostile and political environment, especially in the India region.
"Diversity" is being overly abused in Microsoft India. It is wrongly interpreted as an "all-women organization" in many cases. Efforts are made to eliminate male candidates during interviews for "diversity" reasons. Even some male employees are made to leave the organization to be replaced by female employees again for "diversity" reasons. Hence, "diversity" is very feministically interpreted and implemented.
I hope the top leaders of Microsoft see this post and do something significant about this. Please note, diversity does not mean "keep all ladies around." It is totally different.
First round phone call with the talent team. We discussed their experience and the roles they have in the space. Then, we moved on to some technical questions and talked about the rest of the interview process.
Fast and quick, but the questions were tricky. The interviewer was nice, and we got along well. The interview process was efficient, and communication was clear throughout. I appreciated the professionalism and friendliness, though preparation is key
This was a standard coding screen: a technical coding challenge with your language of choice (I used Python) in a CoderPad-like editor. This followed an initial recruiter screen, which was just to make sure the resume and job matched.
