Pros

Awesome benefits, a great training ground for various disciplines. There's available internal classroom training on tons of subjects. The salary is a bit higher than the market.

A lot of smart people are walking around, allowing you to always learn from someone else. When I started, the teams I belonged to were innovating quite a bit.

Cons

The performance review model promotes internal competition and not really cooperation. The voice of regular employees is virtually non-existent to upper management. There are too many similar products competing with one another. If you don't belong to Windows or Office, you don't have a lot of say.

Advice to Management

First, I'm glad they removed that awful performance review model.

Second, there are really a lot of innovations and smart ideas coming from a lot of employees. Management just needs to take time and invest in listening to them.

Third, the world isn't just about Windows and Office. It's time to invest in smaller products that could be the next huge thing.
