Microsoft was one of the greatest places to work in this industry. You got to work alongside great people and solve difficult problems for the entire world.
There are only a few companies that you can work at that truly make a difference in everyone's lives.
Somewhere along the way, the upper management lost sight of the ball. They kept looking for the next billion-dollar business without realizing that the current billion-dollar businesses started from humble beginnings. The lean, mean machine that was Microsoft when I joined back in the mid-90s is long gone; middle age has not been kind.
Listen to your employees. They are shouting, but no one seems to be listening.
