Pros

Microsoft has a good work ambience and smart folks. The company allows a good balance of professional and personal aspirations. Being a bigger organization, it has a really wide spectrum of projects, teams, and groups.

Cons

It's difficult to get end-to-end project life cycle experience. For example, hardly a single person can look at bootstrapping, brainstorming, development, and shipping, since most products use existing building blocks or they require different folks to execute different parts.
