Pros

The job was great in the PFE/CE days. It was extremely rewarding, with good compensation and a great org.

Cons

Once the tech role (PFE/CE) was combined with the sales role (CSA), it ruined the tech role. As much lip service as is paid to doing what is right for the customer, at the end of the day, it all comes down to sales at all costs. I had a hard time reconciling the ethics of a customer paying to have me on-site to provide support, but I am actually rated on how much more I can get them to buy. I doubt customers would be happy to know that is how their paid support is rated.

Advice to Management

Split the tech and sales roles back apart. It is near impossible to maintain the trusted advisor relationship when having to also sell more.
