Excellent resources and very strong teams of people.
Ego of talented but ignorant software engineers, who are spoiled and feel justified in treating other disciplines as servants. A good place to work as hardware for a few years, but a lousy place to build a career.
Get into hardware by thinking about hardware and software ubiquitously, or get out completely.
