Pros

Microsoft is stable, treats its employees well, pays them well, and you get to work with a lot of smart people. There are free beverages and reimbursement up to $800 for fitness expenditures. They offer top-notch benefits and have a huge positive impact on people's lives. There are lots of opportunities if you look, and it can be a great experience if you find a good manager.

Cons

Easy to get lost in a large group.

Terrible if you don't have a good manager.

Emphasis is often too much on process.

Work-life balance still isn't great.

Some groups aren't receptive to new ideas.

As a rule, collaborating cross-group is challenging.

Advice to Management

Listen, support, encourage, foster creativity and collaboration, and channel passion rather than squelching it.
