It seemed to me that I was lost in this big corporation when I just joined the company. It was not easy to find the right place for myself among thousands of talented people.
But when I asked myself – does Microsoft allow me to grow as a professional, to learn new technologies, to learn how to create new projects and support existent ones? I answered – yes.
I realized that if I focus on the particular goals and omit everything else, I will be able to take an advantage of working in such a big corporation as Microsoft.
Microsoft can be not an ideal place to work for people who would like to see their career succeed quickly. It’s difficult to compete and to get promotions quickly, but it does not mean that it’s not possible. The teams in Microsoft are very different. Every team can be like a separate “kingdom” inside the company. Try to find the team where you will be happy if the current situation does not make you comfortable.
The high-level management in Microsoft should be very honest with themselves about the quality of the product, about goals and results. The leadership should think about company success not only in terms of profit but in terms of world recognition.
I was invited to a technical interview with Microsoft. The interviewer started with a general question: “What happens when you type google.com into your browser?” They asked a few follow-up questions related to that. After that, they gave me a Leet
The interview process involved: * Three technical interviews * One hiring manager video call Most of the questions were medium to hard LeetCode problems. They also asked about techniques mentioned on my resume. However, I believe they prioritized
To be honest, the whole process was quite disappointing from all points of view. I never had a call with a recruiter to discuss the position and was not informed at all about the process and next steps. It took 8 months to receive an offer. Recrui
