Pros

An enormous body of institutional knowledge. Benefits that, while maybe not the gold-plated Cadillac they were 10 years ago, are still top-notch. Recent, much-ballyhooed "cultural changes" are really happening, at least in some groups.

Cons

There tends to be a lot of overhead and red tape between you and your job. Dependence on other teams, especially distant ones, can be nightmarish. Many of the engineering tools and practices are not state-of-the-art.

Advice to Management

I think Satya generally knows what he's doing, unlike his predecessor.
