Pros

Variety of groups to work for.

Some great engineering talent.

Cons

Rewards often seem to be based more on how you "sell" what you did rather than what you did.

If you aren't savvy politically, you can get crushed.

The review system, combined with bloated senior/principal layers, can foster an atmosphere where teamwork suffers.

Advice to Management

There seem to be an abundance of principal-leveled folks who stopped learning new things or contributing a long time ago.
