Better salaries, still horrible review system

Pros

Pay is not bad. Work/life balance is quite good.

Cons

The forced review curve encourages employees to put on a show for managers instead of doing actual work.

This has led to the unfortunate position MS is in now in the consumer space: no marketability, poor reaction times.

Advice to Management

Latest review changes were cute, but do nothing to address the actual problem with the system. Stop relying on underperforming and uninnovative OEMs to make hardware. Start designing world-beating hardware (PC, laptop, phones) in-house. The partner system is a serious weak point.
