Pros

A good place to work with plenty of training opportunities. Friendly and smart people are everywhere, but it misses the thrill of a start-up community. Fairs in which people present new ideas are a fantastic place to get seen, even by people higher up.

Cons

You can easily get drawn into the Microsoft bubble, with the only products and methods you know being in-house. Management decisions are top-down and can be intransparent (not the place to feel self-empowered).

Advice to Management

Make sure some features and improvement ideas come from the bottom up to make people feel part of the product. Ensure there are clear paths for people to progress into higher roles and change performance reviews to be more team-focused.
