Pros

You get a chance to make a difference and work on high-impact products.

You get to work and learn with a lot of smart people.

Good pay and benefits.

Cons

Some teams have more bureaucracy than others.

Sometimes you feel that you are just a cog in a big machine.

In most teams, it is hard to grow career-wise without sacrificing some work-life balance. There are a lot of people there who work hard and put in a lot of extra time. If you don't do the same, then you may not get promotions or a huge bonus.

Advice to Management

Increase base pay across the board for engineers.

Change the culture of working late and over the weekend.

Increase the hiring bar. Lately (8 years), hiring quality has been going down.

Allow more flexible work-from-home options.
