Pros
  • Lots of different areas to work.
  • A stable job (Microsoft isn't going anywhere soon).
  • Find the right team, and you can have a good work/life balance.
Cons
  • I equate Microsoft to communism. You are treated the same as anyone else of your level/title in the company, regardless of project. So you will make the same amount if you work 12 hours a day on some high-profile project, as someone working 4-6 hours on some low-visibility project.

  • Titles mean nothing at this company. This means you will find a lot of people in the senior bands that have just stopped caring and don't know anything.
