Pros

Microsoft makes you feel at home – as though you have a family away from home. You're involved in something bigger than yourself, and the company cares deeply about your well-being and your correct placement.

Cons

If you end up in the wrong group for you, or a group that is being mismanaged, it can be a very hard place to work. This didn't happen to me, but it did happen to people around me.

Microsoft is a huge company, so you should be able to find the right place for you. There's no reason to wash out at all.

Advice to Management

If your attrition rate is too high, you're doing something wrong.

Employees need to feel valued and that they're contributing value. The size of Microsoft sometimes makes that sense hard to achieve.
