The work environment is changing for the better.
Compensation and perks are good and comparable to Google and Facebook (sometimes higher, sometimes less, depending on when you come in); however, stock is generally less.
No free food in the Redmond.
Some areas still feel a bit corporate, and there is a bit of management overhead.
Working at Microsoft is still looked down upon by competitors.
Keep moving more towards the Google and Facebook engineering standards, and we will be able to sustain the current innovation momentum.
