Pros

I loved all the benefits provided by Microsoft. It was honestly hard to keep track of everything to ensure that I got the value out of it all, but that's a good problem to have.

Cons

You know how Microsoft is supposed to be the chill big tech company with a great work-life balance? That might be true in some sections of the company, but my team and the org around us was not that.

At one point, we hired someone from AWS to the team, and after a few months, she left to return to her old job because the work-life balance was so much better. Our WLB score on the employee survey was 20/100, whereas the average across all of Microsoft was 75/100.

Microsoft pay isn't enough to put up with the BS we had to deal with.

I used to think that they cared a good deal about diversity and inclusion, until they laid off their entire DEI team.

Advice to Management

Honestly, not much lower-level management can do because the organization is so political. If you step out of line, you get managed out by the leadership team.
