Intellectually stimulating work, good benefits, strong engineering culture.
The engineers are on the older side, which isn't bad. It seems like younger people use Microsoft as a stepping stone and jump ship to better companies like Google. However, if employee tenure is like 15 years or more, that is still good. That means they are doing something right at least (benefits).
Two rounds: 1 technical for 45 min. Asked DSA questions like valid parentheses and peak element, then optimized using binary search. 1 hr 45 min. Asked about projects and leadership questions.
Very straightforward, two back-to-back thirty-minute technical interviews that had a combination of LeetCode easy and medium questions, along with some behavioral questions that were sprinkled in there.
I interviewed for a Software Engineer Intern position at Microsoft. The first round was an online assessment that tested problem-solving and coding skills. Although I performed decently, I didn’t advance to the next stage.
