Good salary, modern tech, but that's it

Pros

Salary is good, including a hire bonus (for the first 4 years) – the biggest in Prague for IT, I think. You'll be working with modern technology. There's a possibility to work partly from home.

Cons

Microsoft fires people and reduces teams, but the workload becomes bigger. New positions are almost never opened. The expectation is to work for free outside of work hours.

USA teams often plan meetings after work hours (e.g., 7-8 PM Prague time). If you are a developer, expect that you will do FullStack, DevOps, QA, and OnCall support. (Yes, Microsoft doesn't have separate people or teams for it; software developers have to do all these jobs).

Also, expect a lot of bureaucracy: daily approvals to do your job, repeatedly joining groups, and fulfilling useless documents/requests.

If you have OnCall (mandatory for 90% of teams), it's 24/7 for the whole week. Be ready to solve work issues during the night or weekends, canceling your plans with friends and family.

Advice to Management

Hire more people. Also, there should be separate people for QA, DevOps, and On-Call. Consider time zones.
