Being on a team at Microsoft means more to them than anything else. You can be a terrible coder in an intern position, but if you show grit and give results, then they will see the opportunity for you.
Microsoft will overwork you if you let them. They give a considerable amount of time off, but some people feel the need to work. Although I did receive guidance on this weakness of mine, it is something to work on before joining Microsoft and during.
I love the way management is at Microsoft and wouldn't change anything about it.
The way different teams work together and have support from your manager, understanding both technical and non-technical, helps you get work done.
Overall, I would recommend this position to another friend of mine.
First round OA with two questions, about LeetCode medium. Final round: three technical interviews, with coding questions. Since the JD mentioned language C, the coding question was done with C.
I had a 45-minute phone call with a recruiter regarding an engineering position. They discussed the specific team I was applying to join, as well as Microsoft's workplace culture in general.
The interview was easy. Most of the questions they asked were LeetCode easy. Unfortunately, I haven't been selected even after answering everything perfectly. I think they rejected me because of the ongoing visa issues.
