Microsoft looks good on the resume, and I still think it's an attractive place for a new graduate to work. They can learn strong principles of software development and make a good living as well.
The organization is now large and bureaucratic, and management has yet to develop a compelling on-line strategy.
People can easily get lost in the company, and there are only a few groups where there is that high-level of entrepreneurial spirit.
I would recommend that the company invest more on the enterprise side of the business and less on the consumer side, which they'll never win.
