Decent work-life balance. Good benefits. Normal deliverable speed (changing).
Too focused on AI. Employee deal low (compensation). RTO to Redmond. Too much focus on delivery speed due to AI.
Used to be pretty relaxed and fun to work. With investment in AI, there's more of a culture shift towards absolute focus on speed of delivery. Quick turnaround to push this while fully ignoring pain points such as employee compensation and on-call support.
Invest more in employees and employee experiences and development at the company. AI improvements are great and cool, but not asked for by anyone other than shareholders. Seeing such a big push for AI changes and tanking the culture while ignoring consistently talked about issues among employees is only going to bring sentiment about the company down further. It is currently very hard to justify.
First round OA with two questions, about LeetCode medium. Final round: three technical interviews, with coding questions. Since the JD mentioned language C, the coding question was done with C.
I had a 45-minute phone call with a recruiter regarding an engineering position. They discussed the specific team I was applying to join, as well as Microsoft's workplace culture in general.
The interview was easy. Most of the questions they asked were LeetCode easy. Unfortunately, I haven't been selected even after answering everything perfectly. I think they rejected me because of the ongoing visa issues.
