Pros

Working with smart and passionate tech people makes you smarter and a more driven employee. There are still some great people in EMEA and the US. This will definitely give exposure to great challenges and products, such as AI and cloud.

Cons
  • Toxic culture spreading as fast as ever.
  • Bad, biased, outdated review system.
  • Tech staff starting the week knowing they will overwork to overcorrect management mistakes.
  • The leadership in EMEA are in it for their share payout at the end of the year, and the easiest way to do that is cut headcount so the end-of-year balance sheet looks better.
  • This means you can lose your job when you overperform.
  • The management is not market-experienced; the majority there never experienced other markets and companies, which makes it really poor for experienced tech engineers.
  • Yes, the tech team really had to endure monthly "McDonald's"-style employee of the month meetings. Hahahahahaha.
Advice to Management

Get a proper job, see how a high performer leadership mindset works. Come back and stop the attitude that your bonus earnings will make life easier in the long term.
