Pros
  • Compensation Benefits (not the best in the industry, though)
  • Perks
  • Health Insurance is very good
Cons
  • Very political. Many managers are people who are the loudest, not the most knowledgeable or capable.
  • Experience varies by team. Some teams are very toxic.
  • Finger-pointing and back-stabbing culture.
  • Not as glamorous as it seems. 80% of the work gets accomplished by 20% of the people.
Advice to Management
  • Focus on hiring people that actually want to do work and build products, not people that want to rest and vest. These people tend to block and be intimidated by people that actually want to get work done.
  • Be cautious that many managers are leftover from Steve Ballmer's time and still have that mindset, or some teams still have that mindset. Be cautious that these people are not blocking the progress of others.
