Microsoft has allowed consulting agencies to completely fleece hard-working freelance engineers in a financial sense. Also, full-time employees are often condescending and indifferent to contractors. The company has allowed a culture of servitude and open disdain for non-FTEs, which makes for terrible morale and lots of friction between the haves and have-nots.
