The culture, the energy, the teamwork. I've worked for many companies over my 20-year career. They all have buzzword-laden catchphrases to which they just pay lip service until the profit motive overrides them. MS is different. You feel it genuinely practices what it preaches because it realizes that sacrificing some pennies today to do the right thing pays dividends over the long term. And it all comes from the very top – this is how you do leadership by example.
Still relatively new to MS, so this may be unfair, but the technical career path/ladder isn't clear.
Keep doing what you're doing! All the way up the chain, every manager I've met has been fantastic.
Straightforward but took several months. Interviews all went well. Then, for my final interview, I had a no-show for one of my three rounds. I believe this severely impacted my final outcome, as the other two rounds went really well.
The interview involved two phones, with one group completing five rounds. Each round lasted 44 minutes, followed by a 15-minute break. The interviewers were nice and friendly. I was able to answer most of the questions.
Great conversation with the manager, an exceptional interaction with the team, and a very keen interest in what else I could bring to the organization. I had three interviews to get the job.
